i know to some this seems like a childish post i guess, but is there anyone else out there who actually does aspire to go somewhere with music.
to say this without being arrogant, i am a good musician, music is my life cuz god there's fuck all else i am good at, and i find it hard to think that it is never gonna come to anything.

i know some might say that " ah, its just a bit of fun, playing gy, having a laugh" but why does there never seem to be a better outlook for things? when u hear the "quality" of the new bands on kerrang tv etc ( INME, what the fuck?) does it make anyone angry that bands who are so much betternever seem to get the breaks? ( l2y are a prime example, a great band, who were pretty viable as far as "what the kids listen to" but never got what they deserved)

i know its just a whinge, but the idea of having to spend another year at college, and three years at uni, to go into a job i never really wanted to do just scares and depresses me.

someone else must feel this too?

umm, i honestly say i do feel simuarly, but i hav the problem of not being a very good musicain aswell, i would love it if The band got a break and i would probably drop everything to do it, but i would allways feel that any second the band would find a better bassit. i just can't see wot i would do at uni, or wot job i would get in later life, if it doesn't work out for the band. But that might very well be my only option. personly i think the band does hav the talent to make it (well most of us) we just need to work at it and be lucky really

nar, matt had much more imput on the album than i did. Its hard being the 3rd best bassist in a band and being the one who plays bass. I'm not sayin that they would get rid of me straight away, there my mates they wouldn't do that. I'm just sayin that i personally would feel like there are much better than me out there and record companies would spot that straight away.

Its not impossible....although my dream changed slightly...cos it is incredibly difficult to keep a stable band going...let alone achieve any level of success along the way.I still have that dream..lol.But DJing has kept me working with what I love...and in a town like gy...thats no mean feat.
A hint...many bands get breaks by being roadies for others......look at stone sour.....

If you want any sort of success, you dont want to be hanging round here and playing to the same old people. Sure it will get you some respect if you are any good but if you start going to other places, you will get just that bit further. Look at 3am! They are playing in London and places regularly, but then of course you need daddy to pay for you to play there. hmm... well, make money and then travel and show the country your music! see what happens then.
